George III Silver Hot Water Urn, London, 1762, Louis Herne and Fras. Butty, makers, inverted pear shaped body with crabstock handles, tap with bifurcate ivory knob, peaked pierced lid with ovoid flowers and gadrooning, on three acanthus scroll legs ending in shell feet, the legs joined by floral garlands, engraved with a coat of arms to lid and one side of body, with possible later chasing and embossing of ribbon-tied floral swags, ht. 20 in., approx. 84 troy oz. possibly later chasing and embossing. floral swags possibly later. wear to top of lid from cleaning. marked at top of neck and at inner rim of lid. marks OK. lacking burner.
