George III Silver Reticulated Fruit Basket, London, 1766, Edward Aldridge, maker, oval, pierced with quatrefoil and cruciform panels offset with beaded band, base embossed with stylized grass stems, with gadrooned C-scroll rim, and openwork guilloche swing handle, on slightly flaring pierced foot with ropetwist rim, lg. 14 in., approx. 24 troy oz. marks to basket good. handle not marked. minor age wear, with overall light surface scratching from use of abrasive cleanser. very minor bends to small metal details of the piercing (i.e. tips of quaterfoils).
