Victorian Silver Inkstand, London, 1852, J. Charles Edington, maker, the well modeled as a Roman-style oil lamp with eagle head handle suspending lid, fitted with a small colorless etched glass inkpot, set into a shell-form base engraved with anthemion and scrolls, lg. 7 3/4 in., approx. 12 troy oz. the collar into which the inkpot fits into the stand is silverplate. All the rest is silver, with appropriate hallmarks. a few light chips to interior rim of the glass pot within inkpot.
