George III Silver Teapot, London, 1768, lacking maker's mark, inverted pear shaped, chased and embossed with Rococo scrolls and foliate cartouches, with foliate and rocaille cast serpentine handle, slightly domed lid, and spreading foot with further rocaille, engraved with small crest, ht. 5 1/2 in., approx. 18 troy oz. handle possibly replaced in part (center section where wood handle could have been), or in its entirety--(hole approx. 1/4 x 1/8" visible to interior [now covered by base of handle], and with solder evident near base of handle to exterior). center of body with approx. 4 small spots of solder at raised flower (repairing holes from cleaning wear). lid with a small pinhole from cleaning wear. lid not marked. lacking maker's mark. overall age wear.
