Chinese Export Parcel Gilt Silver Filigree and Enamel Decorated Lidded Basket, 19th century, with French markings for foreign-made silver, oblong, with domed lid with melon-form finial, the bombe body with swing handle, with floral engraved base rim and stepped feet, mounted throughout with multicolored flowers and vines, lg. 9 1/4 in., approx. 16 troy oz. handle possibly later, and of French manufacture. lid finial compressed very slightly, and with a tiny wire repair reattaching a piece of the enamel vinework back down. body with unobtrusive compression, and with a piece of vinework lifting. small areas of enamel loss throughout.
