Coin Silver Medallion Tea Service, third quarter 19th century, bullet-shaped teapot, covered sugar, round creamer with elongated neck, and round open sugar bowl, all with engraved strapwork and central leaftip band accented with a profile medallion to one side, and monogrammed roundel to the other, raised on four slender legs topped by Egyptian Revival masks, and ending in hoof feet, pots with attenuated loop handles, teapot ht. 7 3/4 in., approx. 66 troy oz. monogrammed EWS. creamer and both sugars with medallion of a female goddess. Teapot with Medallion of Mercury. covered sugar: bead at top of the flattened ball finial pushed into ball partially. light pinpoints. creamer: a few pinpoints at top section of round body. open sugar: a few light pinpoints. minor light scratching to gold-washed interior. teapot: thumb-sized dent just below waist band on monogrammed side. a few light dings to top section of body above waist band on medallion side. some green corrosion below lid finial, and a small spot to one of the Egyptian masks. all with some overall minor age surface wear.
