Six-Piece Gorham Sterling Tea and Coffee Service with Associated Sterling Tray, 1894-97, comprising ovoid teapot, coffeepot, creamer, covered sugar, wastebowl, and kettle on stand with burner, with ovolo upper rim, angular handles, engraved with swags, running leaf, and guilloche bands, and C-scroll cartouches, on ball feet, monogrammed, coffeepot ht. 6 1/4; with associated Gorham sterling tea tray, oval, with reeded ogee rim, presentation inscription to underside, lg. to handles 26 1/2 in., approx. 246 troy oz. total. covered sugar: minor age typical wear to wood finial. waste bowl: a few light dings. kettle: missing base piece of lid finial (wood sits on top of lid). underside of tip of spout with some bends. ding to one side at one of the pegs. dings to base of burner. teapot: thumbsized dent, and a slightly smaller dent flanking the monogrammed roundel. creamer: a few pinpoints. teappot: thumbsized dent to base of one of lobes on un-monogrammed side. all with overall usage wear, and some wear to engraving. monogrammed AP. tray: minor age typical surface scratching. inscription: Anna Palen from Helen Miller Gould Christmas 1904.
