Nine Silver and Silver Plate Matchsafes, late 19th to early 20th century, five sterling: a Gorham with foliate scroll edge, a Baroque scrolled, a small rococo scrolled, a Wallace souvenir case engraved with a scene of Cliff House and Seal Rocks, San Francisco and dated 1898, and a Birmingham, 1902, case engraved with ivy; an .830 silver-clad sliding case with Dutch-style decoration of a lady and gentleman; three silver plate: a wine bottle form, a souvenir case with printed roundel depicting "The Promenade, Douglas," and one decorated with children within a trellis, monograms, lg. 1 1/4 to 2 5/8 in., approx. 4 troy oz. weighable silver. plated: Doulgas souvenir case with loss of most of silvering. bottle with rubbing to silvering. Children in trellis: wear to silvering, and some corrosion. silver: Gorham with fairly heavy wear to surface decoration. San Francisco with a few light pinpoints. .830 with some edge loss and usage wear to silver frame.
