Eleven Sterling and Silver Plate Matchsafes, late 19th to early 20th century, seven sterling: a Kerr scroll engraved, a bead-edged, a Webster with laurel wreath, a wreath, scroll, and shell example, one with a snake amidst cattails, a small gold-washed with Art Nouveau sea nymphs, and a small rocaille scrolled; four silver plate: a bale shaped, a hammered purse-form, a horseshoe-shaped, and one engraved with a boy, monograms, lg. 1 1/4 to 2 3/4 in., approx. 4 troy oz. plated: horseshoe and purse with light plating wear. boy engraved with loss of most of silvering. sterling: snake: minor wear to surface decoration. the others with overall minor, age-typical usage wear.
