Attributed to Jean (John) Paul Selinger (American, 1850–1909) Sunset Bears signature and date "John Selinger 1880. " l.r., titled and inscribed "...John Selinger 42 Willow...Prov. R.I." on a label, possibly in the artist's hand, on the reverse. Oil on panel, 3 1/4 x 12 in. (8.3 x 30.5 cm), framed. Condition: Surface grime, craquelure with minor areas of alligatoring, retouch. Provenance: Estate of N. David Scotti, Providence, Rhode Island.
