Henri Linton (American, 20th/21st Century) Arkansas Landscape #24 Signed and dated "H. Linton '90" l.r., identified on a label affixed to the frame backing. Acrylic on paper, 45 x 45 in. (114.0 x 114.0 cm), framed. Condition: Small pull or tear u.l. corner, scattered tiny nicks to edges, not examined out of frame. N.B. Henri Linton is a well known landscape painter from Arkansas, whose richly hued, semi-abstract aerial views of the Mississippi delta region have won him acclaim throughout the South. His work is represented in the collections of The Arkansas Arts Center, The Rockefeller Foundation, and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, as well as many private collections. Mr. Linton is also a respected educator, serving as professor and chairman of the Department of Art at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. He was inducted into The Arkansas Black Hall of Fame in 2001. The pull or tear u.l. corner measures 1/4 inch across and probably results from the weight of the paper.
