Sterling Tea and Coffee Service, Boston, mid-19th century, oval with finely reeded rims, bodies engraved with roundels flanked by scrolling leaves and topped by ribbons, the angular handles engraved with wheat stems and ribbons, lids with urn finials, comprising kettle on stand with burner (ht. 13 1/2), two teapots, a coffeepot (ht. 9 1/4 in.), covered sugar, open sugar/spoon urn, creamer, and waste bowl, monogrammed to one side, approx. 177 troy oz. total. kettle: light ding to monogrammed roundel; light dents to burner. teapots: both with slightly loose handles (one lacking a join pin). coffeepot: light ding to one side near base. underside of base showing a compression dent (visible from interior of pot). covered sugar: with 5 small dings, and some cleaning wear to engraved tips of wheat at shoulder. open sugar/spoon urn: good creamer: minor wear to engraving from cleaning. waste bowl: thumbsized dent to one side near base.
