Newcomb College Pottery Vase Decorated pottery New Orleans, Louisiana, c. 1918 The body relief decorated with tree and Spanish moss in blues and greens, the opposing side decorated with a yellow moon through the trees, impressed Newcomb College cipher 245 JT72, and JM for Joseph Meyer potter, ht. 7 1/2 in. Literature: The Potters and Ceramists by Jessie Poesch. Note: Joseph Meyer was in charge of throwing the pottery and helped to build the kilns when Newcomb Pottery was set up.
