Note: T.S. Nickerson made art pottery for Merrimac; he had studied glazes and colors under Sir William Cooke in London. Merrimac is one of those great art potteries from the Arts & Crafts movement that is distinguished by the color and texture of their glazes. Often collected by potters for its unique characteristics and because the pottery closed and its remaining stock, along with the building, burned in 1908.
