Jade Fang Ding with Cover, China, Qianlong carved mark and of the period (1736-1795), the rectangular ceremonial vessel raised on four legs surmounted by taotie masks, each side of the body and the domed cover finely carved in relief with stylized taotie , flanked by dragon scroll handles suspending jump rings, the cover surmounted by a recumbent foo dog finial, the jade of semi-translucent pale green color with russet and white markings, carved wood stand, ht. 5 5/8, lg. 4 3/8, wd. 3 1/4 in.
