Pair of Baroque-style Carved and Parcel-gilt Armchairs, early 20th century, rectangular upholstered backs, with acanthus-carved and parcel-gilt downswept arms, on overupholstered seat, with tapered acanthus-carved balustroid legs joined by a fancy H-stretcher, full ht. 47, seat ht. 20 in. upholstery: both with some fading, soiling at headrest, and scattered soiling. one with thread breaks and heavier soiling at seat. wear to gilding at handholds. legs with stable vertical shrinkage cracks.
