Dutch Marquetry Inlaid Secretaire a Abatttant, late 19th century, bombe crest with frieze drawer over large fall-front inlaid with elaborate decoration of two parakeets perched on a basket of flowers, opening to interior fitted with drawers and pigeonholes, over two cupboard doors with ribbon-tied flower-filled amphora inlay, the sides of case with large vases of flowers, on ogee bracket feet, ht. 64 1/2, wd. 42 1/2 in. horizontal shrinkage crack through center of fallfront, with some touch-ups. heavy chipping to front edge of top, including losses to veneer. Left side with vertical shrinkage crack through center, running the full length. Some shrinkage cracking to pediment. Fall front currently locked closed.
