Regency Mahogany and Inlaid Tallcase Clock, late 18th/early 19th century, the hood with dentil-molded swan's neck cresting centered by a finial, with open reeded columns with brass capitals, the face painted with florals, world projections, and with moving aperture depicting sailing vessels and phases of the moon, the case with front panel of inlay of patera roundels and bellflower swags, the door with peaked Gothic arches to top, engaged fluted columns to sides, the base with bellflower inlay and small bracket feet, ht. 94, wd. 21 3/4 in. finial off, but present. Has pendulum and two weights. Face with lining, and some flaking to phases dial. Cracks to veneer above long door. Front of base with loss to upper left corner of veneer, and popping of veneer to right side. Vertical shrinkage cracks to sides of base. Overall age typical scuffs and scratches, and scattered shrinkage lines.
