Attributed to Thomas Creswick (British, 1811-1869) Stepping Stones at the Pool Inscribed indistinctly l. r., titled and inscribed "...by Creswick..." in ink on a hand-written label affixed to the reverse. Oil on panel, 10 1/8 x 15 3/4 in. (25.8 x 40.0 cm), framed. Condition: Retouch, old splits in panel, scattered abrasions, craquelure, bowing to the support. There is a second, modern label taped to the reverse inscribed Creswick...England." There is a small area of craquelure with lifting located top center below and slightly to the right of the flock of birds.
