Carved Wood Blackamoor Figural Pedestal, Continental, 19th century, gilded and painted figure modeled standing on a vessel on a raised base with paw feet, holding a bouquet of flowers in one hand, the other supporting the circular table-top with draped tablecloth, ht. 39 1/2, top dia. 13 1/4 in. Paint very "brittle" throughout with scattered loss and lots of surface splits. There are areas of repaint, especially to the leg. The top with old repair and brace underneath as well as a drape broken off and simply reglued. Structurally sound throughout.
