American Belleek Handpainted Porcelain Mug, polychrome enamel decorated with panels of frogs and toadstools, artist signed C. S. Chapman, printed Lenox mark, ht. 6 1/8 in. Note: Charles Chapman was a pupil of Chase and Clark, associates of the National Academy. He was elected to full academician in 1926. This mug was a gift from him to Wells Sawyer (American artist) who in turn presented it to MacKinley Kantor, from whose estate it was purchased.
