Georges Rouault (French, 1871-1958) Courtisane nue, 1927, from QUATORZE PLANCHES GRAVÉES POUR LES FLEURS DU MAL, published 1966 (posthumously, by the artist's daughter), edition of 425 plus proofs (Wofsy, 223). Signed and dated within the plate, numbered "88/425" in pencil l.l. Etching with aquatint and roulette on paper, plate size 10 1/2 x 14 3/8 in. (26.5 x 36.4 cm), framed. Condition: Subtle rippling, not examined out of frame. Provenance: Through the family of Eleanor Kanegis Levin, co-owner of Kanegis Gallery in Boston from 1953 to 1961, and the Retina Gallery in Cambridge from 1968 to 1971.
