Aldro Thompson Hibbard (American, 1886-1972) Hillside in Winter Signed "A T Hibbard-" l. l., inscribed "2X-68" on the reverse. Oil on canvasboard, 15 x 18 in. (38.1 x 45.7 cm), framed. Condition: Minor surface grime. Provenance: A private Massachusetts collection. The board is slightly larger than the canvas along the left and top sides by about 1/4 to 1/8 inch. Normal wear to the edges of the canvasboard, more noticeablely in the l.l. corner. On the reverse there may have been another composition which is now painted over in pink pigment and inscribed in the u.l. corner "2X-68."
