Robert Emmett Owen (American, 1878-1957) A Small Settlement on a Side Road near Kent Signed "R. Emmett Owen" l.l., titled on a label affixed to the frame backing. Oil on canvas, 16 x 20 in. (40.5 x 51.0 cm), framed. Condition: Lined, retouch. The areas of retouch are along the top edge of the canvas to the sky area along frame liner (scattered dabs and dashes spanning approximately 1 x 20 inches) and in the l.l. corner along frame liner (approximately 1 1/2 x 1/2 inch at extreme height and width), minor craquelure to impasto, inscribed "...Vose Gall. of Boston" in pen on the frame reverse.
