Frank Alfred Bicknell (American, 1866-1943) Toward Evening (Octobre) Signed "Frank. A.Bicknell" l.l., titled, signed, and inscribed on the reverse. Oil on panel, 8 x 10 in. (20.2 x 25.2 cm), framed. Condition: Surface grime. Inscribed in ink on the reverse of the panel " 'Toward Evening' (Octobre)/By Frank A. Bicknell/58 W 57th St./N.Y. City/ Price" and in pencil "No. 4." There is a further inscription in a different hand in pencil that is illegible. The outer dimensions of the frame are 14 1/2 x 16 1/4 inches.
