Lemuel D. Eldred (American, 1848-1921) Bringing in the Nets Signed "L.D. Eldred" l.r., stamped and inscribed "THIS PAINTING WAS TREATED BY Gustav D. Klimann/ January 1979..." on the backing. Oil on canvas, 9 1/2 x 12 in. (24.1 x 30.5 cm), framed. Condition: Lined, retouch, fine and shrinking craquelure. Provenance: A South Dartmouth whaling family by descent. Craquelure throughout, fine dashes of retouch over network of craquelure to the u.l. and u.r. quadrants.
