Benjamin Champney (American, 1817-1907) Afternoon Sail on the Lake Signed "B. Champney" l.r. Oil on canvas, 23 1/2 x 14 1/2 in. (59.7 x 36.8 cm), framed. Condition: Retouch, patch reinforcements, craquelure, surface grime. Three areas of retouch to the u.r. quadrant--first approx. 1/4 x 1/2 in., second approx. 1/2 x 1 in., third approx. 1/2 x 1/2 in.; four masking tape reinforcements to the reverse, stretched with Boston tabs.
