Whittredge" l.r., titled on the reverse, probably in the artist's hand, identified on a label from William Vareika Fine Arts, Newport, Rhode Island, on the reverse. Oil on canvas, 10 x 17 1/2 in. (25.4 x 44.4 cm), framed. Condition: Minor retouch, craquelure. Retouch to sky in three small areas: upper center with one 3/4in. long area, also with craquelure, located 2-1/4 inches down from the top; one 1/2 in. long area located 3-1/4 inches down from top; and a dot of retouch on left side measuring 1/4 inch diameter, located 3 inches down from the left corner. Light surface grime.
