British School, 18th/19th Century Temple of the Sibyl at Tivoli Unsigned, titled in ink on the reverse, inscribed and titled "No. 5 Viduta dell'interno del Tempio della Sibella a Tivoli" on a handwritten label and with a label from Henry Graves and Company, London, affixed to the frame backing. Watercolor on laid paper, sheet size 20 3/4 x 28 1/4 in. (52.8 x 71.5 cm), framed. Condition: Foxing, paint loss, toning, rippling, staining. The title on the reverse reads, "Temple of the Sybyl [sic] at Tivoli." With a printed label from Brett, Gray & Hartwell Decorators, 659 Boylston Street, Boston, hand inscribed "305/165" and with a label from Henry Graves and Company, London, on the frame backing. Foxing primarily to the sky. Staining l.r. corner 9 inches along bottom, 2-1/2 inches high at the right edge. Toning to sheet, particularly to a 4-inch wide band along the right side. Paint loss l.r. corner in an area measuring 1 inch high and 1/4 in wide. Subtle rippling to sheet. Surface grime. Titled "Temple of the Sybyl at Tivoli" in ink on the reverse of the sheet.
