Robert Frank (American, b. 1924) Arizona, 1956, printed 1978. Signed and dated "R. Frank 1956" in ink l.r., identified with artist's stamps and in ink on the reverse. Gelatin silver print, image size 8 1/2 x 12 3/4 in. (21.5 x 32.3 cm), matted, unframed. Condition: Creases to sheet at all corners except u.r. (creases to l.l. effect the image). Provenance: From the collection of Austin Lamont, by family descent. All but the upper right corner have creases. At the lower right they go into the image. Wear and subtle toning,soiling to the edges, recto. Slight curling to the sheet. On the reverse: Copyright stamp l.l. inscribed "Robert Frank 1978" in ink. Inscribed "GI" in pencil above the copyright stamp. Stamped "ROBERT FRANK ARCHIVE" in a square format l.r. and inscribed "1956" and "361" in pencil within the square. Inventory number inscribed in pencil l.c. "1989-12/22/2541/0813." Soiling and handling creases to the reverse. Wear and subtle toning,soiling to the edges, recto. Slight curling to the sheet.
