Samuel V. Chamberlain (American, 1895-1975) Boston Courtyard, 1935, edition of 255 plus proofs (Chamberlain & Kingsland, 241). Unsigned. Drypoint on paper, plate size 5 7/8 x 3 1/4 in. (14.8 x 8.2 cm), matted, unframed. Condition: Margins over 2 inches with a deckled lower and right edges, subtle soiling. Provenance: Through the family of the artist. N.B. The composition is based on a photograph by Maurice M. Faeustmann. When Chamberlain's print was used for the cover of Pencil Points, July 1935, the work was re-titled Old Court, Philadelphia.
