Oil on artist board, c. 1840, depicting the blue-eyed, brown-haired child holding a bunch of cherries, flanked by swagged and tasseled drapery, 15 x 10 3/4 in., in a period molded giltwood frame. Condition: Minor retouch. Provenance: A label affixed to the reverse indicates that the portrait was purchased from Marguerite Riordan. Minor retouch to forehead, chin, chest, and u.r. background .
