Partial Mandarin Pattern Pearlware Dinner Service, England, early 19th century, polychrome enameled, transfer-decorated pearlware pottery, with central scene of a landscape with a servant holding an umbrella over two figures seated at a table, the border with shaped cartouches depicting flowers and birds, on a blossom-patterned orange-red ground, comprising three graduating oval platters, an oval platter drainer, two covered square serving dishes, a square serving bowl, a sauce boat, three soup plates, seventeen dinner plates, and seven dessert plates, thirty-five pieces total, (imperfections), ht. 1-4 1/2, dia. 7 3/8-21 in. three graduating size oval platters- largest is very good cond., middle size platter with stapled rim repair area about 6 x 2 in. with old retouch, the smallest was broken at an angle in half and glued back together; oval platter drainer- very good condition but does not fit any of the platters; two covered square serving dishes- very good condition; square serving bowl-very good cond., sauce boat- very good condition; three soup plates-one with a small rim chip and 1 1/2 in. rim line; other two good cond.; seventeen dinner plates-two with 1 1/2 in. rim lines, a few with minor glaze wear on rim edges, one with a small rim chip; seven dessert plates- good condition, minor glaze losses on rim edges.
