Two Olive-Amber Blown Glass Wine Bottles with "S Colton 1767" Seal, England or America, late 18th century, reportedly made for Samuel Colton, a merchant who lived in Longmeadow, Massachusetts, who owned three schooners, and was involved in trade with England and the West Indies, the bottle lip with a laid-on ring finish, cylindrical body with applied round seal with raised "S Colton/1767," (one with small lip chip and a loss on the seal, the other with a 3 in. crack on side), ht. 9 1/2 in. Both bottles have wear around the shoulders and base, one with small lip chip and a loss on the seal and shows more wear and also has a scratched abrasion under the lettering on the seal, the seal chip is retained (taped) to the underside of the bottle. The other bottle has a small inclusion on the side with an associated approx. 3 in. crack with a 1 in. spur, some very light surface wear.
