George III Maequetry-inlaid Bureau, England, late 18th/early 19th century, the slant-lid ornamented with crossbanding and a central medallion framed by half and quarter examples, opening to reveal an interior fitted with two frieze drawers with fret-carved fronts, nine additional drawers, four valanced compartments, to files with book spines to fronts, and a medial door enclosing another drawer, over two short and three long graduated cockbeaded and crossbanded drawers, on bracket feet, ht. 43, wd. 43 1/2, dp. 21 3/4 in. Loss to cockbeading on right side of right short drawer, and right side of bottom drawer. Interior likely rebuilt. Wear to finish on right side of case and long drawers. Veneers reglued. Repair to front right foot. Allover age typical wear.
