Cranberry Flashed and Colorless Cut Glass Decanter Set, mid-19th century, comprising a decanter with ovoid stopper and paneled body, ht. 12 3/4, eight cordial glasses with cranberry flashed bowls and colorless stems, ht. 4 1/8, and an undertray with central well for decanter, dia. 11 1/2 in., all cut with teardrop-shaped stylized leaves and star-cut bases. Provenance: Estate of James Michael Curley. Sold with a letter dated 1863 referring to this as a "nectar dessert set," in which the 19th century owner states a belief that the set was owned by Napoleon and Josephine. Break to the foot of one cordial. Slight chip to the corner of a foot of one cordial. Check to glass collar of decanter.
