South German Marquetry-inlaid Burl Walnut Slant-lid Desk, 18th century, the slant-lid with central crowned crest flanked by arabesques, lifting to reveal interior fitted with three valanced compartments, two drawers, and a central well, over three long drawers inlaid with strapwork and two side doors enclosing shelved interiors, the sides with plinth bases centering bracket feet, ht. 46, approx. wd. 78 1/2, dp. 29 1/2 in. Veneers cleaned up and re-glued. Separating to molding on one side door. Doors warped. Some moldings re-glued. Scattered small patches to veneer. Shrinkage cracks. Scattered chips and nicks.
