Murtha Henkel/1987" l.r., titled and inscribed on the frame backing paper, pastel on paper/board, sight size 23 3/8 x 17 1/4 in.; and American School, 20th Century, Coastal View , signed "R. Foley" l.r., inscribed "Ruth Foley" on the stretcher bars, oil on canvas, 16 x 20 in. N.B. The inscription on Gate backing paper locates the view as Hadrian's Gate, lower arch, at the Damascus Gate in Jerusalem. The artist's resume is also affixed to the frame backing paper.
