Jan Van Wegel (Dutch, 1752-1809) Still Life with Flowers Signed "Jan Van Wegel f. " l.c., identified on a partial presentation plaque. Oil on canvas, 30 x 25 in. (76.0 x 63.5 cm), framed. Condition: Lined, retouch, paint losses, scattered abrasions, heavily varnished, surface grime. The lining is adhered with glue. There are minute scattered losses primarily (but not exclusively) near the edges. The craquelure is relatively stable. There are also "shrinkles" near the upper edge. There is a vertical area of retouch about 10 inches long near the left side.
