Aldro Thompson Hibbard (American, 1886-1972) Winter in New England, Probably a West River, Vermont View Signed and dated "A. T. Hibbard 1924" l.l. Oil on canvas, 36 x 42 in. (91.4 x 106.7 cm), in a probable Carrig-Rohane frame (#3759). Condition: Craquelure, minor flaking u.r., minor surface grime. The frame is not signed by the reverse is stained red and is incised "#3759". Overall size with frame: 41 1/2 x 47 1/2 in. There is minor paint loss and some flaking, overall measuring 1-1/4 inch across and 1/4 inch down, at the extreme upper right corner. At the upper left corner there is an area of exposed canvas, but this does not show any signs of pigment loss, more likely just the way the painting was stretched.
