Aaron Siskind (American, 1903-1991) Seaweed 2, 1943. Titled, dated, and signed "...Aaron Siskind" in pencil on the reverse. Gelatin silver print, image size 16 x 12 in. (40.5 x 30.4 cm), unmatted, unframed. Condition: Unmounted, minute wear to corners, very subtle handling creases. Two subtle handling creases within the image. One of about 1-1/2 inch located in the lower left quadrant, 3-1/4 inches up from the bottom and 1 1/2 inches in from the left edge, outside the circle made by the seaweed. The second measures about 1 inch and is located above the seaweed circle, at what would be 11:00 o'clock if the circle were a clock face. There is also a very small handling crease to l.l. margin.
