Joseph Pennell (American, 1860-1926) The Choir (Washington Cathedral), 1923, original edition of 30 (Wuerth, 821). Signed and dedicated "Jos Pennell imp To Ralph Nicholson" in pencil l.r., signed and dated within the plate, and identified on a label from Wunderly Brothers, Pittsburgh, accompanying the lot. Etching on laid paper, plate size 11 7/8 x 9 3/4 in. (30.0 x 24.6 cm), matted, unframed. Condition: Margins 1/4 inch or more with two deckled edges. The sheet is a fine laid paper and measures 15 x 10 1/2 inches. there is very minor soiling.
