Pair of "Commodore Truxton" Enameled Porcelain and Brass Mirror Supports, England, late 18th/early 19th century, with polychrome enameled transfer-decorated enamel bust of Truxton, dia. 1 7/8 in. Note: Commodore Thomas Truxton was the victorious commander of the U.S.S. Constellation, which defeated the French National frigates L'Insurgent and Vengeance in 1799 and 1800, respectively. Accompanied by a small transfer-printed brass button of a naval officer.
