Monumental Architectural Carved Eagle with Union Shield, America, 19th century, relief-carved spreadwing figure painted gold, with a painted American shield suspended from its neck, the back is flat for wall mounting, ht. 42 3/4, wd. 70 in. Minor scattered paint loss,age cracks, the figure is lacking items once held in its talons, probably arrows or olive branches.
