Carved and Gilded American Eagle Wall Plaque, America, 19th century, carved in nearly full relief, the spreadwing figure perched on scrolled acanthus leaves, (loss on one wing tip), ht. 18, wd. 46 1/2, dp. 12 in. The loss is about 1 1/4 x 3/4 in., there are a few old gilt-gesso losses to the surface on eagle's wings, legs, and toes.
