Norcross from Augusta, Maine, who was a seaman of the 16th Maine Volunteer Regiment, Company B, during the years 1860-64 of the Civil War; they include two small diaries kept while he was in service in 1863 and 1864-65; fragments of his Seamen's Protection Certificate signed when he was 19 in 1860, his engraved nickel voluntary infantry badge, a silk and brass Grand Army of the Republic badge, two regiment reunion booklets, numerous photographs and tintypes of family and friends, a packet of steel sailor's sail repair needles, a horn and steel razor, a small rosewood encased ink bottle with Albert's incised inscriptions, a lodge booklet, a small stitched and embroidered silk stylized American flag in an envelope inscribed "The flag and the ---- from Alabama you have captured."
