George IV Silver Tea Tray, London, 1824, maker's mark SH inside a concave rectangular lozenge, the footed tray with cast shell and scroll ogee edges with applied heavily cast floral decoration, the field with a mottoed armorial to the center, reading "Do good and it pursue," surrounded by C-scrolls and shells, the rest of the field heavily embossed and acid-etched with C-scrolls and flowers on pebbled and scale-textured surface, raised on three heavily cast floral and foliate bracket legs, dia. 17 1/2 in., approx. 83 troy oz. Overall in very good condition. It appears that the feet have been added.
