Four French Cabinet Plates Painted with Napoleonic Ladies, 19th century, one Haviland & Co. , depicting Empress Josephine, signed A. SOUSTRE, dia. 9 9/16; and three matching with unsigned portraits identified on the reverse as Caroline Alurat, Mlle. Georges, and Dsse. de Montibello, dia. 9 1/2 in. Rubbing to gilt edges and rim to all but that of Josephine. One with gilt loss to nearly a quarter of the gilt area.
