Pair of Bronze Sphinx Chenet, 19th century, each cast as a recumbent sphinx with dark brown patina atop a gold-colored plateau with central shell decoration with pendant foliage, on C-scroll feet, ht. 10 1/2, dp. 10 1/4 in. Sphinx with areas of verdigris patina, plateaus with areas of darkening and corrosion. Scattered dings and small pin-prick spots of polish and loss of patina.
