Mariano N. Madarang (Filipino, 1937-2008) Homage to ITT Signed and dated "Mariano Madarang 70" l.r., identified on a label affixed to the reverse. Acrylic and Duratex on canvas, 42 x 36 in. (106.7 x 91.4 cm), framed. Condition: Surface grime, small canvas deformation l.l. Provenance: Sold to benefit the Temple Beth Israel and St. James Catholic Church, both of Danielson, Connecticut. N.B. Madarang was a former director of the College of Fine Arts at the Philippine Women's University, established in 1947. We wish to thank Maya Madarang, daughter of the artist, for her assistance cataloguing the lot.
